Completed in 2018 this market-led residential development represents the first phase of the wider development of a semi-rural area within the Eastleigh Borough.
The site was procured through strategic development with our own internal planning team. This first phase delivering 73 homes, 47 for open market sale new homes and 26 brought forward with affordable housing specialist Vivid. The project has been recognised for its exceptional quality, something which is reflected in the response from the market—this is in terms of sales values and sales rate, both of which exceeded expectations.
Whilst the development is of a former greenfield site, many technical challenges were overcome including dealing with level issues, mitigating the effects of migrating ground gas, utility mains reinforcement and extensive off-site foul drainage works. This, the largest open market sale development for Drew Smith at the time was awarded the Solent Quality Place award and has been dubbed a resounding success with the highest standards of presentation and positive customer experiences. The second phase of this project Pembers Hill Park is currently under construction (244 homes).
