Brewery Place Welcomes Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Investigation Team

Last week the team at Brewery Place in Blandford welcomed members of the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Investigation Team and Dorset Council Building Control Team to site. The event organised by Len Jeanne of Dorset Council Building Control was planned to provide an insight into the construction methods used within timber frame buildings, specifically around the extent of fire stopping provisions and the degree of fire prevention methods incorporated, unfortunately following the aftermath of a number of timber frame house fires within the county recently.

The Fire Investigation team were given a walk-through tour of our new homes at various stages of completion, focusing on specific detailing within the building’s fabric, which are integral to meet compliance requirements and also to mitigate fire spread generally within the structure.

Jason Llewellyn, Senior Site Manager said “We were very keen to work with the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service, and to maintain our close working relationship with the local Authority on this project and it was a great opportunity to show them around site and provide them with a better, more detailed understanding of how we create our homes. This was a really valuable exercise, and we were only too glad to be of assistance”
