Drew Smith Awards Schools Competition Winners!

Children across the South were invited to take part in Drew Smith’s school competition this Spring. Pupils were asked to design the perfect garden that the wildlife would love.

We received some very creative garden designs from 25 schools within the region and we were impressed by all of them and last week we were delighted to announce two children from St George’s C Of E Primary School in Langton Matravers, Dorset were the winners.

Vicky Eagle, Marketing Manager at Drew Smith said; “We received so many incredible designs and we were very impressed by the habitat detail that was included in these two entries. We had so many final designs to choose from but just couldn’t decide between these two fantastic gardens so decided to award two winners.”

Helen Dexter, Site Manager at the Spyway Orchard Site in the village awarded Charlie Legg, age 10 and Elowen Hoad, age 4 with prizes to help them create a garden for wildlife at home and the school was also presented with £500 garden voucher to help them improve their outside area.

Katy Astle, Acting Headteacher at the school said; “We were excited to work on the competition as a school and we are really proud and excited that both winners were our very on pupils. We will be giving the children the opportunity to come up with ideas on how they would like to improve our garden and what we can spend the vouchers on.”

Drew Smith are currently building 28 new homes for the local community in partnership with Aster.
