Construction Student Wins Women in Property Award

A huge congratulations to Paige Gough, one of Drew Smith’s buyers, who was one of the regional winners in the Women in Property National Student Awards. Last week the team supported her in a bid to become the national winner and a fantastic time was had by all.

The Awards programme runs regionally each year, when universities are invited to nominate their top students studying on a Built Environment degree course. Paige was asked to present to the judging panel about something she is passionate about in the built environment as well as taking part in a question round. This part of the process judged Paige on her views and opinions on the industry and asked her to discuss her own career aspirations. The national round consisted of a formal interview with industry professionals where she discussed her own role at Drew Smith, championing women in the industry as well as diversity and inclusion.

Paige said, “It has been a pleasure to be part of this process and one of my biggest achievements winning the regionals. As well as being able to meet and share this platform with so many other talented women in the industry. I look forward to developing and progressing with Drew Smith and would like to thank them for all the support they have given. We had a wonderful evening celebrating.”

This year, 119 students from 54 universities across the UK participated in the awards, with 13 going through to the final round.

Adrian Cator, Managing Director at Drew Smith said, “This is a tremendous achievement from Paige and shows how the next generation of people coming into this industry can add so much to our business. We had a fabulous night supporting her and wish her all the best with the next steps of her career at Drew Smith”

Paige didn’t claim the overall winner’s trophy but everyone at Drew Smith is very proud of her achievement and to have her as part of the Drew Smith team!
